Final Blog

What have i learned? I have become a master at the pen tool. Before I knew next to nothing and I hated it sooooo much. Now I feel like I have really gotten the hang of it. Also the transformation tool helped out a lot too when I was making my typography piece. It really helped to make that piece awesome. I wouldn't have been able to make it look like that without the help of that tool I feel like through photoshop and illustrator, I could really bring my pieces to life. I loved learning how to make gradations, it really made my pieces look 3-D. I love seeing how I progressed through out all of my works. I feel like I really learned something and I love how all of my pieces look, maybe some more then others.

So my logo is for a tea brewing company. I intend to sell naturally grown tea. I thought that using a witch for an icon in the logo was a smart idea. Not only is it catchy but when I think about witches I think about their potions and how they are made form the plants around them. So speaking of potions I plan each brew to have a kind of name that would remind you of a potion.

I guess my targeted audience would be more of the supernatural kind. People always want a taste of weird. I also think people who want there teas to be natural and fresh and who want to know were they are produced and such things like that would by my product. The plan to capture there attention with my logo is the witches hat and to make them think about potions and that the colors will just draw them in to buying my products.

Making the hat was my favorite process, I like how the hat looks 3-D. Actually almost everything looks 3-D. What I least liked was making all the craters for the moon and then having to make shadows in them. It just took a lot of time.

Actually I don't think I would change anything. I absolutely love this piece and I think I did a pretty good job. It turned out just as I had envisioned it.

Graphic Design Blog Assignment: Week #6 (due Friday, Oct. 21st)

For my piece I did the song My Hearts a Stereo. I not only incorporated the song in my piece by obviously putting the lyrics in. Also by adding head phones and a heart into the piece. The heart made out of the hands is very successful because it really does look like a heart made from silhouetted hands. If I could change anything about my piece then it would most definitely be, that I used the same font for the different parts of the piece. Not all willy nilly that it is right now. Over all, I really do like my piece but i don't think i will be listening to this song for awhile.

Graphic Design Blog Assignment: Week #5 (due Friday, Oct. 7th)

I chose both the Coca Cola logo and the Apple logo. I think both are very prosperous.  I think the Apple logo is very successful because they produce products that people want. the apple is associated to its product by the thought of the apple being knowledge and most of the products are quite knowledgeable. when I see the logo I think obviously of apples and then I think "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."  yes, for sure the Coca Cola logo is associated with the product. I mean it has a bottle top in it. so from the logo you can digress that the product that they are selling is a soda. the feelings I get when I look at the logo is thirsty. it makes me want to go and get something to drink. pretty sure that's like an awesome marketing technique when you can make the viewer want to go out and buy it or for me at least thirsty.

Graphic Design Blog Assignment: Week #4 (due Friday, Sept. 23rd)

Designed by Phil

This piece had a lot of contrast between the white and the black. The extremely thick white lines in some of the pictures seems to even out the piece almost. I think the composition was done really well. It doesn't seem like there are any areas that seem to boring or awkward. I mean there is not much texture to the piece as in shadows and highlights to make it look 3-D but I still think it looks great. By emphasizing on certain letters it really brings thins out. Such as the butterfly and the spider, you know they are there due to how think the lines are that were used to create it. Also with the little to no emphasis on the leaves and how you barely notice them but you do. The use of line is great in this piece. It seems like the while piece is just lines. Over all i like the piece.

Graphic Design Blog Assignment: Week #3

Well here is my piece. In all actuality for some some this project might have been easy but for me I still had trouble with the pen tool. I know for a fact I still don't know how to use it. This piece took me forever to do, their was just so many layers. There was at least eight hundred. I chose the colors just because I enjoy yellows and green. I if i could have i would have done the rainbow but I couldn't so I chose those. i want the piece to be viewed as something someone should want to do. Like they would have a lot of fun if they were to play on this machine. This would probably be just a poster, a decoration. It would look really good in a casino were people play on the slots all the time.

Graphic Design Blog Assignment: Week #2 (Due Friday, Sept. 9th)

Pride by Ezequiel Matteo

This piece most definitely describes me as an artist. The color for one, emphasizes the color in my life and in most if not all my pieces of art work. My life and everything in it almost always revolves around color. the color is so bright and powerful and it's just there, like me. what I'm trying to say is that just like the colors and this piece, I am bright and bubbly. Also I like how everything just flows like me I guess. for the most part I just go with the flow and nothing really bothers me..... most things don't bother me. But yeah, I think this piece really shows me as a person, that the color isn't just the main point but everything else comes together to make a great piece. Like me!

Graphic Design Blog Assignment: Week #1

I think this piece has a lot of colors, scene with the monsters, the shoe, and the world. some other elements that I see is a lot of line and shape. not much value with the colors. there is a lot of movement in the piece, with the little things flying around the earth and the ooze moving across, also with the little monsters in the shoe.

I think the composition of the piece is unique. usually with people would put the piece right in the center and I think that with putting the piece on the side it adds something to it. it's cool how it looks like the earth is made out of the shoelaces from the shoe. what I also like is how everything is put in one area and your eyes go immediately. It just looks like an overall good piece. If I were to change anything, I might add more color but that's just me. I might also use up more space as well.

I think the meaning of this piece is that the world pretty much revolves around shoes. not in an obsessive way but more in a way that we really can't live without shoes in a modern society. I think it's working but who knows, not everyone thinks the same way as me. it kind of makes me feel like I need to go out and buy a new pair of shoes.
